Did my first triathlon of the season yesterday (many of the earlier triathlons this year were rained out due to our monstrous flooding). It was over in my nearby hometown of Ft. Worth, and lead off by its progressive and physically active mayor.
We made it a weekend and stayed over Sat night at a downtown bed & breakfast. We had some dinner with a couple of my old high school friends, at a WAY overpriced "chef-operated" trendy restaurant. Enjoy the evening with out friends, but the restaurant was a bad choice, and pretty sure we got some sort of food poisoning as both Tess and spent half the night in the bathroom.
Not the best way to start a race, but I did ok- swim and bike went well, but stomach just too upset on the run so I walked a bit. At least I beat the mayor!
After our breakfast back at the B&B, we visited the world famous museum district and looked at some modern art (nearly all of it stupid) and more traditional at the Kimbell. A nice weekend, and good break for Tess and her graduate studies.
