The entire family scraped out of bed early Thanksgiving morning to head to Fort Worth. First, to run the 30th Annual FW Turkey Trot, then over to my parents for the Thanksgiving feast.
It was a perfect morning for running- clear, sunny and 50 degrees. Claire and I first ran the 1K event. which made a great warm up. Then the twins and I ran the 5K.
My great twins boys gave me a nice Father's Day present this weekend- they both ran the Dadfest 5K with me on Saturday. It's June in Texas, so of course it's miserably hot and humid- was maybe 84 degrees and 90% humidity at race time, but we ran hard anyway.
I got back into running 5Ks this weekend, after 6 weeks off due to injury. Three weeks into my "5K Every Weekend Until I Break 20 Minutes" plan for 2011 I pulled something in my abnominals and barely ran since. But both my twin boys were running this race, and I was feeling better, so I decided it was time to get back into it.
