I did the Klassic Rock triathlon this morning - first race of the year. So it turns out it's a bad idea to train all spring on your road bike, then break your triathlon bike out two days before the race. I did not feel strong on it, and only managed about 19 mph on the bike leg. I ride faster than that on my road bike just going around the lake a few times.
Managed about a 4:30 swim split (300 meters long course), which is about 30 seconds slower than usual, but I've only swam a few times so far this year due to shoulder issues. Ran a smoking (cough) 9 minute mile pace on the run. Typical for me- I suck at running. Still finished 63rd overall, which puts me in the top 15-20%. Good enough- just doing it to stay healthy..
